This is the third Sunday of Advent, the Sunday of Joy. Pastor Kelly’s message was titled, “Wishing You a Mary Christmas,” using Luke 1:26-49. The music team presented “Light of Joy,” incorporating the lighting of the Advent Wreath; “All Earth Is Waiting"; and “Good Christian Friends, Rejoice.” The bells played “O Come, O Come, Emmanuel,” and we celebrated the baptism of Abigayle Grace Adserias. For the second Sunday of Advent - the Sunday of Peace - Pastor Kelly returned with a message titled, “Christmas Through the Eyes of the Innkeeper,” using Isaiah 9:2,6,7 and Luke 2:1-7. The music team presented “Light of Peace “, incorporating the lighting of the Advent Wreath, and “Here Is Bread, Here Is Wine”; Cathy King & Carol Markley shared a piano/organ duet titled, “O Come All Ye Faithful/Sheep May Safely Graze“. Today is the first Sunday in the season of Advent - this is the Sunday of Hope. The message was titled, “Light in the Darkness,” using John 1:1-14 and Matthew 5:13-16. Music included “Light of Hope” (the first selection from the Christmas Cantata), “Thou Didst Leave Thy Throne,” and “I Want to Walk as a Child of the Light,” presented by the music team; and “Give Thanks,” an organ/piano duet by Cathy King & Carol Markley. You can give securely to the church’s ministries by clicking here. Here is Sunday’s celebration of the sacrament of Holy Baptism of Brooke Lynn Behnke, daughter of Jason & Sarah. This week, we observed Consecration Sunday with our guest, Rev. Steve Butler (who grew up at BSUMC). His message was called, “Straight Talk about Tithing,” using Matthew 6:25-34. Music included “Come, Christians, Join to Sing,” by the bell ensemble; “Jesus Loves You, Little One,” from the voice choir; and “Seek Ye First,” a piano duet by Cathy King & Carol Markley. We also celebrated the baptism of Brooke Lynn Behnke; due to length restraints on posted videos, that will be posted separately. This morning we celebrated Holy Communion together, and Pastor Kelly presented part 2 of “Disciples Learn to Pray: The Lord’s Prayer”, using Matthew 6:9-15.
